New year, new life, they always say.

We may be having a hard time and wrong decisions last year, we can always cope up and correct all of it. Whenever a new year starts to get near, people tends to write their new year's resolution. Some writes that they will study more than going out but sometimes some of our resolutions will never come true.

New year is the time of changing for the better. Things got tough last year but we still got to survived from all those trials. Since a new year comes we should start a new beginning like doing good things for everybody and learning to forgive and forget everything that happened last year. We leave those bitter things in the past and let's try to make things better.

Do we really still care of the Land of Promise?

"Mindanao is the second largest and easternmost island in the Philippines."-said in Wikipedia.

People regard Mindanao as a not safe to be lived in because it is surrounded by a Muslim presence. The thoughts of people from Luzon and Visayas are that Mindanao has always been a chaotic place. That is why people from other places are hesitant to visit nor live in our place. We cannot deny the fact that some particular places are not really safe because some MILF are there and majority of them still want their equal share. But Mindanao is one of the most beautiful places that has many tourists' spots in the Philippines. Mindanao has fantastic waterfalls, beautiful mountains and garden that we Mindanao people should be proud of.

But despite of seeing a green clean environment around us, are we sensitive enough of what is happening to our land?

Last year December 17, 2011, Typhoon Sendong hit our place so badly. This was one of the very disastrous thing happened in Mindanao especially in Iligan City and Cagayan De Oro City. Those were just one of the cities that are most badly hit. Many have losts their lives and belongings. Our family is thankful and blessed enough to God because we and our relatives were not affected. Affected families are still holding their hopes high and trying to stand up and fight the hardships that they encountered despite of eveything that happened to them. The whole world will not going to stop just because of what happened. We all have to stay strong and start from scratch again.

Everyone should be more sensitive enough after this disaster. We should not just rely to everybody else. May all of these will be the alarm and the way that we will be more responsible for our natural resources. Let us love and take care of our mother earth before it is too late.
